Cost Estimates - Pricing Points
What does it cost for this technology?
Relative to the logistics of seismic programs and the cost of drilling an unsuccessful exploration well, a GORE-SORBERÒ Exploration Survey is not a significant expenditure. The technology can verify and characterize a petroleum system at a fraction of the cost of geophysical programs.
Normal onshore programs cost between $500 and $750 USD per modular for analytical, interpretive and reporting components plus field acquisition costs. Field acquisition costs vary based on terrain and location.
Using a hypothetical example in Southern Alberta consisting of 200 grid points, modeling one well set (2 wells) and an area of 30 km2 with a regular sample spacing of 400m, the approximate cost would be $120,000 to $130,000 USD contingent on surface access condition and timing. Assuming a six well pool, the average cost per well would be $20,000 USD.
A similar survey in an isolated frontier area with field acquisition challenges, the total survey could increase to $150,000 to $175,000 USD.
